OUR PROCESS
Master dyers buy Afghan wools sold in the Ghazni market & dye them using natural materials like indigo and onion skins. Weavers work patterns mapped on graph paper that customers provide or have custom designed. Woven mostly by women, carpet-making is one of the few ways that women can earn money. After the carpet is cut from the loom, it’s washed several times and has its pile cut down to the desired height. We facilitate the processing of Afghanistan’s export formalities and ship directly to the buyers.

The Kabul Carpet Export Center is a team of professionals whose goal is to assist the women weavers and rug making families of Afghanistan, enabling to establish lasting relationships with buyers across the world.
Label Step is the fair trade non-profit organization committed to the well-being of weavers and workers in the handmade carpet industry.
